Ford Mustang

Ford Mustangs 1964 1/2 to 2007

The Ford Mustang, first introduced half way thru 1964, has turned out to be one of the longest lived models Ford Motor Company has ever produced.

It has survived the 60's performance era with the likes Of Carrol Shelby helping Ford introduce performance models like the HiPo 289 and HiPo 302, Boss 302,Shelby GT 350, and Shelby GT 500 and Shelby KR GT 500. Stock Mustangs came with various engine/transmission configurations ranging from a barely audible 200 CI six cylinder to an outrageous 375 Horsepower "BOSS" 429, they offered a 351 Windsor, 351 Cleveland, 390, 427, and 428 CJ and 428 SCJ as well...but the stated horsepower was Rear wheel horsepower, and not measured at the flywheel like most cars of that time.

Even with the Clean Air Act coming into play in the late 60's and early 70's Ford continued on with the Mustang II (a smaller Model with 4 cylinder and 6 cylinder Models) and a Mustang II Cobra, with a 302 starting in 1974 and continuing on thru 1978. In 1979 they changed the body (up sized it) offering it in 4 cylinder 6 cylinder (V-6) and the 5.0L basically a more modern 302 with a variable venturi carb...until they came out with the Mustang GT again with a Holly 4 BBL and World Class T5.
